Here's The Latest.....
JULY 2014
As many of you already heard, I had to undergo surgery in the month of June. I want all of you to know how much I appreciate your prayers, support and all the kind words that you sent my way. I'm very happy to announce that I am back performing shows again and feeling 100% better. I am a very blessed man. Sheryl & I just returned from a great trip to Nashville. I spent time in the studio with the band rehearsing for the upcoming Billy Joel Tribute Show at the
FRONTIER CASINO in St Jo, Missouri on August 9th. Hope you're making plans to attend this show, it's going to be a GREAT time!
I was also able to visit my mom, who turns 85 years old on October 4th. She's doing pretty good. Her hearing isn't as good as it once was but she's still able to live at home right there in Nashville. We moved into that house when I was 6 years old. That was a long time ago. My sister, Linda, keeps a daily watch on her and helps with anything she needs. Also spent time with our grandson, Liam. It was great to hug that little guy again and see how much he's grown in 3 1/2 short years. He's into anatomy & I think we may have a future doctor in the family!
As much as we love Nashville, we are happy to say that Omaha has become our permanent home. After moving here in 2007, we have made some of the best friends any two people could ever ask for. And we've met some of the greatest folks right here in this wonderful city. Our son, Tyler, his wife, Jessica along with their daughter, Serena, are about an hour from us and she fills our lives with so much joy! If only all of our grandchildren could live so close! We are crazy about all of them & we keep our fingers crossed to have every single one of them living close by one day. Here they are in birth order: Tate, Autumn, Raylann, Kinley, Liam & Serena! Love them all!!!
July 4th was spent with great friends here in Omaha at Werner Park... tailgating before & after the game & taking in the fantastic fireworks show post game was a blast! They do a great job over there and it's so wonderful to live in a town that supports family activities for all to enjoy. We're already looking forward to next year's show!
What a huge surprise we had today as we sat outside on the deck grilling up some delicious hotdogs. We were actually treated to a show from the amazing BLUE ANGELS as they flew over, around & straight from Offutt Airforce Base! It was breathtaking to say the least and we took as many videos as possible as each one passed right over our home! The training that these guys endure is second to none and we felt so blessed to have experienced this event. It makes you extremely proud to be an American when you witness the pride and professionalism of our armed forces. God Bless the USA.
See you on the road,
- Billy Troy

The month of May was one busy time & we are thankful for it. June is here and I have another full month of shows. Life is good. Sheryl & I travel together and enjoy the time we spend with one another so much. We celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary on June 3rd and we spent the day reminiscing about the places we've been and all the people we've met along the way. We agreed that we wouldn't change a thing. As crazy as it seems ,when looking back on it all, we would do it all over again.
June 9th was a very special day for us. I performed for a wonderful group of veterans & volunteers at the Eastern Nebraska Veteran's Picnic. One man in particular left us with another memory to add to our collection. He was there serving up some delicious food for those of us in line, proudly wearing his "Vietnam Combat Veteran" vest.
There he was: Serving. People. Again.
Later, he asked if I could do a patriotic song for him. I already had one planned for the day...Lee Greenwood's GOD BLESS the USA. I can't tell you the emotions that Sheryl & I experienced when those wonderful, brave, courageous men and women who fought for us to be able to spend a beautiful day like that together, in freedom, all stood up holding hands and were singing along to that song. It was one of those moments we will never forget. Sheryl hugged the man and thanked him for his service and I shook hands with him and all the others who came to see me after the show. It was a great day for sure and one we will not forget.
July brings some more travel but I'll wait until then to share that news. In the meantime, check out my schedule page and try to make it out to one, or better yet.... all of my shows!
See you on the road,
